East Bladen’s unbeaten Lady Eagles raced to leads of 23-4, 42-9 and 56-16 en route to a 64-21 Four County Conference girls basketball victory over Heide Trask at Rocky Point Wednesday night.

Senior Lacey Suggs filled up the stat sheet with 20 points, 8 rebounds, 5 steals and 4 assists to lead the Lady Eagles. Senior guard Abby Ward narrowly missed a double-double with 9 points, 10 assists and 6 steals.

Freshman Ja’Tyra Moore-Peterson pumped in 12 points and grabbed 8 rebounds for the winners. Senior center Christiana Cromartie followed with 8 points and 5 blocked shots.

Senior Miller Heustess tallied 6 points, and freshman Ashley Hardin pulled down 8 rebounds. Junior Emily Scott contributed 7 rebounds, and Shardajah Brown collected 4 rebounds.

Suggs keyed the 23-4 first quarter run with 3 baskets and a free throw. Cromartie dropped in 3 baskets in the quarter, and Moore-Peterson threw in two more buckets.

Suggs racked up 9 more points in the second period with 3 baskets and 3 free throws. Heustess and Moore-Peterson added 2 buckets each in the quarter.

Ward and Suggs dropped in 2 baskets each in the third quarter, and Ward drained a 3-point shot in the final period.

Coach Patty Evers’ Lady Eagles improved to 4-0 in the league and 14-0 overall. East Bladen travels to Wallace-Rose Hill Friday night.
