BLADENBORO – Junior O’Mara McDonald fired in a 2nd half goal off an assist from senior Brookee’ Singletary that lifted West Bladen to a 1-0 Southeastern Athletic Conference girls’ soccer victory over St. Pauls Tuesday night.

Coach Kristen Parker’s Lady Knights posted their 1st SAC win and are now 1-3-1 in league play and 2-5-2 overall. West Bladen will host East Columbus Wednesday before traveling to St. Pauls Friday night. St. Pauls is 0-2 in league play and 3-10 overall.

McDonald and Singletary finished with 2 shots on goal each. Freshmen Emma King and Melissa Sandoval-Rojas also had shots on goal for West Bladen.

Senior Briana Carranza Toledo recorded the shutout and was credited with 9 saves for the winners. Singletary and junior Jazmy Funez Aranda sparked the defense with 7 steals each.

Junior Anna Campbell came up with 6 steals, and McDonald, sophomore Makenna Thurman and junior Haleigh Seabolt contributed 4 steals each. Sophomores Faith Wren and Abigail Rojas-Aguilar and freshman Brittany Ramirez collected 3 steals each.
