ELIZABETHTOWN – East Bladen rallied for eight runs in the fifth inning to defeat West Columbus 14-8 Wednesday in Three Rivers Conference jayvee baseball action.

The Vikings jumped in front with 6 runs in the first inning on 3 hits, 3 hit batsmen and a walk.

East Bladen answered with 5 runs in the home first. Tyler Hill cracked a one-out single, stole a base and raced home when Dylan Fine hammered a double. Sophmore Rasean McKoy knocked in Fine with a single. Sophomore Jacob Priest and Drew Sholar reached base on errors as Rasean McKoy scored. An error on Grayson Clark’s drive to centerfield scored Priest and Sholar.

Two hits and an error led to a pair of Viking runs in the fourth inning that stretched the West Columbus lead to 8-5.

Freshman Chase Starkloff belted a single, stole second base and scored in the East Bladen fourth inning to trim the margin to 8-6.

Hill started the winning fifth inning rally with a single. Fine walked, and Rasean McKoy launched a sacrifice fly to left that scored Hill. An error on Priest’s grounder plated Fine with the tying run. Sholar walked, and Starkloff smashed a double that scored Priest.

Grayson Clark slammed a double that scored Sholar and Starkloff. Ahmad Powell knocked in Clark with a single. Jay McKoy smacked a single, and Hill reached base. Fine ripped a single that scored Jay McKoy and Hill to grow the lead to 14-8.

Fine batted 2-3 with a double, 3 runs batted in and 2 runs scored to lead East Bladen. Starkloff finished 2-3 at the plate with a double, an rbi and 2 runs scored. Hill batted 2-4 and scored 3 runs.

Clark doubled home 2 runs and scored one. Jay McKoy, Rasean McKoy and Powell added one hit each. Sholar and Priest scored 2 runs each, and Jay McKoy also scored runs. Rasean McKoy drove in 2 runs, and Powell had an rbi.

Clark pitched 3 innings and allowed 4 hits and hit 5 batters. Sholar pitched the final 3 innings and allowed 2 runs on 2 hits and a walk while striking out four.

East Bladen will host Fairmont Friday.
