TABOR CITY – A 35-yard touchdown pass from freshman Zach Meares to sophmore Jordan Robinson gave East Bladen a 20-8 halftime lead en route to a 26-16 Three Rivers Conference jayvee football victory over South Columbus.

Meares’ touchdown pass to Robinson came on the last play of the first half. Robinson also ran for another touchdown and had another touchdown on a punt return called back by a penalty.

Sophmore Lawson Hester raced 30 yards for an Eagle touchdown, and freshman Kari Price dashed 8 yards for the other East Bladen touchdown. Meares connected with freshman Tyler Hill on a 2-point conversion pass.

Coach Ritchie Priest’s Eagle jayvees improved to 2-0 in conference play and 2-1 overall. East Bladen will host Red Springs next Thursday at 6 p.m.
