ELIZABETHTOWN – East Bladen and Red Springs played to a 10-10 tie Thursday in Three Rivers Conference jayvee softball action.

Red Springs scored twice in the first, but the Lady Eagles answered with 3 runs in the home first. Pitcher Erica McKoy drew a lead-off walk, and sophmore Lorna Mendell blasted a 2-run homer to left-centerfield. Nesiah Davis-McKoy and Adrienne Howell belted singles, and Davis-McKoy scored on an error.

The visitors went up 5-3 in the second, but East Bladen scored a run in the third. Davis-McKoy led off with a single, and Howell slammed a double. Lila McDuffie drove in Davis-McKoy with a single.

Red Springs went up 7-4 in the top of the fourth, but the Lady Eagles answered with 4 runs in the home half. Erica McKoy, Mendell and Carlie West smacked consecutive singles with West’s hit scoring McKoy.

Davis-McKoy hammered a double that scored Mendell, and an error on the play scored West. Howell’s fielder’s choice plated Davis-McKoy and put East Bladen in front 8-7.

East Bladen padded the lead to 10-7 in the fifth inning. Grey Guy smashed a 2-out double, and Olivia Hollingsworth ripped a double that scored Guy. Mendell followed with a single that scored Hollingsworth.

Red Springs tied the game with 3 runs in the top of the sixth.

Mendell batted a perfect 4-4 with a home run, 3 runs batted in and 2 runs scored. Davis-McKoy finished with a 3-4 game that included a double, an rbi and 3 runs scored. Howell batted 2-4 with a double and an rbi.

Erica McKoy doubled and scored 2 runs. Hollingsworth doubled in a run and scored one. Grey Guy doubled and scored. McDuffie singled home a run, and West singled home a run and scored a run.

East Bladen will travel to West Columbus Tuesday.
