TAR HEEL — Clarkton School of Discovery raced to a 10-3 lead and used a balanced scoring attack Thursday to defeat Tar Heel 33-14 in a Waccamaw Conference girls’ basketball game.

The game was moved to the new Tar Heel gym because the Clarkton gym does not have heat. Clarkton was considered the home team.

Rahnyiah McLean led the Blue Devils with eight points and Hailey Taylor added six. Eight different Clarkton players scored.

Abigail Dew scored seven points for Tar Heel, which played with only five players because of some players being sick.

After Dew opened the scoring with a 3-point field goal that gave Tar Heel a 3-0 lead, Clarkton registered the next 10 points. McLean had two baskets and Tiekeriah Tisdale, Aniya Willis and Kynzlee Woods each scored for the Blue Devils.
