TAR HEEL – Williams Township built a 15-2 first half lead en route to a 21-10 Waccamaw Middle School Conference girls basketball victory over Tar Heel Thursday.

Bethany Lupo threw in 5 of her game-high 7 points in the opening period as the Lady Aggies raced to a 7-0 first quarter lead. Teammate Reah Lee sank 6 of 6 free throws in the second period.

Len’ya Harrell tossed in the first Tar Heel basket in the second quarter, then threw in 2 more baskets in the third quarter. Kiera Lewis added a basket as the Lady Panthers closed the gap to 17-8.

Tiannah Willis hurled in a basket in the final quarter for Tar Heel. Harrell led the Lady Panthers with 6 points.

Tar Heel, now 1-5, will host Clarkton School of Discovery Monday.
