Lainey Hughes fired in a second-half goal that lifted Elizabethtown to a 1-0 Bladen Five Middle School Conference girls soccer victory over Tar Heel Tuesday night.

Zoe Smith went the distance in goal for the Lady Cougars and recorded the shutout.
