HALLSBORO –Unbeaten East Columbus rode a 2-run, 2-out last inning rally to a 3-2 Waccamaw Middle School Conference softball victory over Bladenboro Tuesday.

East Columbus, now 2-0 in ‘AA’ Division play and 6-0 overall, will host West Columbus Wednesday. Bladenboro, now 0-1 in ‘AA’ Division play and 3-2 overall, will entertain Clarkton Thursday.

Bladenboro pitcher Allison Hickman struck out 10 batters, walked 6 and had allowed only 1 hit until the final inning. After the 1st 2 batters were retired in the 7th, Aleigh Godwin singled through the middle and stole 2nd base. Miley Bracey reached on an infield hit and a throwing error scored Godwin. The next batter reached on an error that scored Bracey with the winning run.

Hickman belted a single to right in the 2nd inning and scored the 1st Bladenboro run. Serenity Johnson’s run-scoring single plated the tying run for the Lady Gators in the bottom of the inning.

Maycee Kinlaw and Addison Wilcox lined singles to center field in the Lady Bulldog 3rd inning, and Kinlaw scored to put Bladenboro up 2-1.

Kinlaw batted 2-for-3 and scored a run to lead the Bladenboro hitters. Hickman, Wilcox, Caity McLaurin and Kristen Singletary connected for 1 hit each for the Lady Bulldogs. Hickman scored a run.
