WHITEVILLE – Martha Simmons batted 3-for-3 and slugged a triple, and Mollie Tolar blasted a home run to lead unbeaten Emereau Bladen to their 5th straight softball win 15-2 over Columbus Christian.

Jenna Brice pitched a 3-hitter, struck out 8 batters and walked 3 to pick up the win for the Lady Aviators. Tolar finished 2-for-3 at the plate, and Simmons and Tolar scored 3 runs each. Gracie Clark and Miriam DeVane both batted 2-for-3 and scored 2 runs each.

Taylor Dowless, Madison Sullivan and Aubrei Nixon connected for one hit each, and Brice, Dowless, and Leah McGill scored one run each.

Tolar, Simmons, Clark and Sullivan belted 1st inning singles and Tolar, Simmons and Clark all scored as Emereau grabbed a 3-0 lead. The Patriots rallied with single runs in the 1st and 2nd innings to close the gap to 3-2.

The Lady Aviators exploded for 11 runs in the 3rd inning. Tolar walloped her home run to start the rally. Brice reached on an error, and Simmons, Clark, DeVane and Nixon belted singles. McGill reached base on an error, and Dowless cracked a single.

Tolar and Brice reached on errors, before Simmons cleaned the bases with a triple. Clark reached base on an error. Tolar, Simmons and Clark scored 2 runs each in the inning, and DeVane, Nixon, McGill, Dowless, and Brice scored one run each.

DeVane singled and scored the final Lady Aviator run in the 4th inning.
