LELAND – West Bladen’s second-round game in the North Carolina Dixie Pre-Majors Tournament against Brunswick County was suspended Sunday night by lightning with Brunswick leading 5-2 in the top of the third inning.

Brunswick scored 4 runs in the first inning and one more in the top of the third before the suspension. Lefthander Ian Sykes started on the mound for West Bladen.

The Knights scored 2 runs in the first inning. Logan West and Trent West drew walks, and Scott Bowen dotted the rightfield line with a double that scored Logan West. Caleb Sholar then lined a single to leftfield that scored Trent West.

The game will be resumed at 10 a.m. Monday morning. If West Bladen wins that game, the Knights will advance to a 7 p.m. game Monday night.  If the Knights lose the suspended game, they will play again at 4 p.m. Monday.
