Heavy rains continued to plague this week’s Dixie Youth Baseball District 9 Minors and Majors Tournament games at Elizabethtown’s Leinwand Park.

The 6 p.m. games on Tuesday were completed with Elizabethtown posting a 20-5 victory over Lumberton in Minor League play, while Fairmont earned an 8-2 victory over Red Springs in Major League action. However the 8 p.m. games on both fields were stopped by rain.

In the Major League Tournament West Robeson American leads Elizabethtown 1-0 in the top of the first inning. That game will resume at 8 p.m. Wednesday.

In the Minor League Tournament, Fairmont will play West Robeson American at 6 p.m. Wednesday.

The District 2 Minors Supplemental Tournament championship game between Elizabethtown and Columbus County at Whiteville was rained out for the second consecutive day and rescheduled for Wednesday at 8 p.m.
