thoughts while shavingMichigan is the best college football team in the nation … #1 Wolverines 34, Washington 13. The win is Michigan’s first national title since the Wolverines claimed a share of the national championship in 1997. Coach Jim Harbaugh described it, “Just such a glorious feeling. I really don’t have any more words than that.” He was suspended twice during the season for 6 of the 15 games…

Today … weather is the big story … Today’s forecast is for showers with thunderstorms after 1 p.m. Some of the storms could be severe. High near 70. Breezy with a southeast wind 10 to 15 mph increasing to 20 to 25 mph in the afternoon. Winds could gust as high as 43 mph. Chance of precipitation is 90%.

Tonight, showers and possibly a thunderstorm before 11 p.m., then a chance of showers between 11 p.m. and 1 a.m. Some of the storms could be severe. Low around 43. Windy with a southwest wind 21 to 28 mph with gusts as high as 41 mph. Chance of rain is 100%.

Wednesday, sunny with a high near 54 and breezy with west wind 14 to 21 mph and gusts as high as 31 mph.

Today’s school action is from home or at home.

Speaking of schools … New Tar Heel School opened yesterday for first time … First new school in Bladen County in many years, much needed and very expensive.

Bottom line today … Stay inside and wait the storm out…

“Every storm runs out of rain, just like every dark night turns into day.”

“It’s only during a storm that a tree knows how strong it is.”

“Life isn’t about waiting for the storm to pass.”
