DUNN – West Bladen’s Travis Pait has received a pair of Coach of the Year awards. Pait has been named the 2023-24 NC Basketball Coaches Association District 2 Coach of the Year. He has also been named 2023-24 Co-Coach of the Year for the Southeastern Athletic Conference.

Pait’s Knights posted a 24-2 record and tied Fairmont for the Southeastern Athletic Conference’s regular-season championship. Both teams posted identical 9-1 league records and split their 2 games with each other. Fairmont’s Montrell McNair was also named SAC Co-Coach of the Year.

It was the 2nd consecutive year that Pait has been chosen Co-Coach of the Year in the SAC sharing the award last season with East Bladen’s Aking Elting.

This was the 2nd consecutive season that Pait’s Knights have been SAC co-champions. The Knights also won the Southeastern Athletic Tournament championship this season.

In Pait’s 13 seasons at West Bladen, the Knights have posted a 176-147 record and claimed conference titles in 2012, 2015, 2023 and 2024. Over the last 3 seasons the Knights have a 56-24 record and have made the state playoffs all 3 seasons.
