BLADENBORO — Karli Priest had 21 assists and four service aces and Emma Turbeville added 10 service points, including four aces, Thursday as East Bladen swept West Bladen 25-11, 25-19, 25-14 in a Southeastern Athletic Conference volleyball match.

The win gave the Eagles a 2-1 record in Southeastern play and evened their overall record at 4-4. West Bladen fell to 0-2 in the conference and 1-7 in all matches.

East Bladen took control of the first set with an 11-1 run that put it ahead 16-6. Turbeville served six points during the rally..

In the second set, West Bladen rallied from a 13-8 deficit to tie it at 14-all. East Bladen built a 20-17 lead before the Knights rallied to cut it to 20-19. However, East Bladen scored the final five points with Turbeville serving the final four points.

East Bladen controlled the third set, turning a 9-4 advantage into a 13-point lead with eight consecutive points that made it 17-4. East Bladen led 24-7 before the Knights rallied for seven points. The Eagles scored the next point to clinch the victory.

AnnaGrey Heustess had nine service points, including three aces, eight hits and a block. Trinity Cromartie had seven service points and two hits. Acee Campbell added three service aces, five assists and five hits. Maegan Burney had six service points, an assist and three hits. Cydney Campbell had six service points and two hits. Miriam DeVane had three hits. Dyiamon Robinson had three blocks and a hit. Karly Ross had a service point.

Whitney McLean had 10 kills and a service point for West Bladen.Trinity Meares had three kills, two blocks and a service point. Marlene Crabtree had four sevice points and a kill. Emily Young had a pair of kills, a block and a service point. Jenna McLean had three service points, a kill and three assists. Kylie Durden had four service points. Kiera Lewis had a kill and a block. Maddie Walters had a service point and an assist. Kaitlynn Brisson had a block.

East Bladen will host East Columbus on Monday in a non-conference match. West Bladen will play at West Columbus on Monday in a non-conference match. Both matches are scheduled to begin at 6 p.m. following the junior varsity contest.
