Midway defeated West Bladen 3-0 Tuesday night in Four County Conference volleyball action at West by game scores of 25-12, 25-11 and 25-13.
Junior Logan Autry led the Lady Knights with 4 service points, 2 kills, a dig and 3 assists. Junior Kassidy Anderson knocked in 3 kills and 3 service points and contributed 3 digs and an assist.
Junior Kathryn Schultz posted 3 blocks, a kill and a service point for West. Junior Morgan Schumacher hammered in 2 kills and a service point.
Junior Laikyn Pait added a service point and a dig, and senior Lorna Smith finished with a service point and an assist.
After Midway took the first set, Autry pushed across a winner to start the second set. A Schultz service point made it 3-1.
The Lady Raiders pulled even at 3-3, but Schumacher pounded in a kill, and Autry pushed across another winner to win a Smith service point and put West up 5-3.
Anderson cracked a winning return to halt a 13-3 Midway run, and an Autry service point closed the gap to 16-10. However a 9-1 Lady Raider spurt ended the set.
Schumacher hammered in a winner from the back-row to help Anderson claim 2 service points and keep West within 9-5 in the third set. However Midway answered with a 14-4 run to close out the match.
West Bladen, now 5-7, will travel to East Bladen Thursday.
