Last week the West Bladen Volleyball team coached by Gaye Davis received lessons in skills development and team bonding from coaches and a player from University of North Carolina. West Bladen’s Volleyball Coach, Gaye Davis said, “The training went really well. We have freshman coming who benefited a lot this week and the whole team has learned new skills.”
Coach Ellen McGill, Coach Megan Sanger, and UNCP student Mallory Davis helped the West Bladen team learn the ropes of volleyball and team building. Kaitlyn Sykes also came out and volunteered her time to get the West Bladen team ready for the season ahead. Coach Davis said the teams skills have improved since last week’s training.
The season is set to being on Monday, August 17th with an away game at Fairmont according to Davis. She also announced there will be a Black and Gold Game hosted at UNCP on August 22nd. Check out the team’s complete schedule listed at the bottom of our Sports page.
