CLINTON – Davion Lewis pitched a 4-hitter and struck out 7 batters Friday to lead East Bladen to an 11-1 jayvee baseball victory over Clinton.

Zach Sholar drew a lead-off walk, stole 2 bases and scored on an error as Lewis reached base in the 1st inning. Lewis dashed home on a passed ball for a 2-0 East lead.

The Dark Horses scored an unearned run in the home 1st on singles by Peyton Gomez and Peyton Moore and an error.

Andrew Musselwhite and Braylon Cromartie drew walks in the Eagle 2nd inning. Musslewhite circled the bases on a pair of passed ball, while Cromartie stole a base and darted home on Sholar’s single to right field for a 4-1 East lead.

Musselwhite walked, and Aidan Hargrove and Cromartie reached base on errors that scored Musselwhite in the Eagle 3rd inning. Easton Bostic walked, and Sholar cracked a single that scored Hargrove and Cromartie. Lewis ripped a single that scored Bostic and Sholar, Cole Butler knocked in Lewis with a single to grow the lead to 10-1.

Butler and Colton Daly walked in the Eagle 5th inning, and Musslewhite drove in Butler with a single.

Sholar batted 2-for-3 with 2 runs scored and 3 RBIs to lead the Eagle hitters. Isaiah Lee finished with a 2-for-4 game at the plate. Lewis singled, scored twice and had 2 RBIs. Butler singled, walked twice and had a run scored and an RBI. Musselwhite singled, scored twice and had 1 RBI. Daly singled, Cromartie scored 2 runs, and Hargrove and Bostic scored 1 run each.

Coach Kenzil McCall’s Eagle jayvees improved to 3-1 in SAC-7 play and 6-1 overall and will travel to West Bladen Tuesday.
