ROSE HILL – Freshman Tyre Boykin and sophmore Kerron Washington combined for 28 points to lead West Bladen’s jayvee boys to a 52-41 Four County Conference basketball victory over Union Friday night.

Boykin pumped in a pair of baskets in the first quarter then drained a 3-point shot and another basket in the third quarter. Boykin sank 4 of 4 free throws and popped in a pair of baskets in the final period to finish with 17 points.

Washington threw in a pair of first quarter baskets and made 2 free throws in the second period. Washington buried a 3-point shot in the third quarter and netted a basket in the final period to total 11 points.

Knight center Jason Moore worked the paint for a first period basket, two more buckets in the third quarter and a free throw in the fourth period to finish with 7 points.

Teammate Jaheim Lesane canned a pair of second period free throws and tossed in a pair of baskets in the third quarter to finish with 6 points. Trenton Lyons nailed a pair of 3-point shots in the first quarter and also totaled 6 points for the winners.

Coach Taurius Baker’s Knights improved to 3-4 in league play and will travel to Wallace-Rose Hill Monday night.
