BLADENBORO – West Bladen swept Fairmont 2-0 Thursday in Southeastern Athletic Conference junior varsity volleyball action by set scores of 25-22 and 25-21.
Freshman Marlie Walters sparked the Lady Knight attack with 5 service points, 3 aces and 3 kills. Freshman Marlene Crabtree and Harmony Jacobs pounded in 4 kills each. Karly Ross fired in 2 kills, 2 aces, 3 service points and had a dig.
Shanyla Hunter keyed the West defense with 4 digs and added 2 aces and 2 service points. Kylie Durden swatted in 2 aces and 2 service points and was credited with a dig and 1 assist. Kaitlyn Brisson contributed 2 service points and a kill.
Coach Kaitlyn Sykes’ Lady Knights raised their record to 5-3 in league play and 8-5 overall. West Bladen will travel to St. Pauls next Thursday.
