WHITEVILLE- Cade Allen pitched a 3-hitter and struck out 8 batters to lead Bladenboro to a 5-2 Waccamaw Middle School Conference baseball victory Thursday over Williams Township.
Hezekiah Blanks blasted a triple to right-centerfield to drive in Luke Howell with the 1st Bulldog run in the 3rd inning. Howell had reached base on an error. Blanks later scored to put Bladenboro ahead 2-0.
Gavin Elks and Aiden Russ drew walks in the Bulldog 5th inning. Weston Hilburn reached base on an error as Elks scored. Allen’s fielder’s choice brought home Russ, and Hilburn dashed home on a passed ball for a 5-0 Bladenboro lead.
Dawson Spivey belted a 2-run single for the Aggies in the 5th inning. Allen snared a pop-up and doubled a man off base in the 6th inning to end the game.
Blanks’ triple accounted for the only Bulldog hit. Coach Tim Benton’s Bulldogs are scheduled to host Nakina Tuesday at 4 p.m.
