HALLSBORO — East Columbus’ pounded out 13 hits and defeated Elizabethtown 19-0 Thursday in Waccamaw Middle School Conference softball action.
The Lady Cougars, now 0-2, will visit Clarkton School of Discovery Monday.
Pitcher Racquel Whittington belted a 3rd inning single for the only Elizabethtown hit. Teammate Avianna Whittington was hit by a pitch in the 1st inning.
“Another really good team with a solid pitching staff at East Columbus,” said Elizabethtown Coach Chris Davisson. “I thought we played much better today, and our pitching was better along with our defense, but they were solid hitters. A really good team. We had a chance to get out of the 1st inning only down 4-0, but just barely missed catching a foul ball for the 3rd out.”
